Ihtesham Khan participates and secures an award in Terahertz Summer School in Germany

Ihtesham Khan started the summer participating in the prestigious International Traveling Summer School on Terahertz Sciences and Technology (ITSS-TSaT and TeraIBs 2026), held from July 12th to 17th in Duisburg, Germany. Co-organized by the University of Duisburg-Essen and the TeraIBs Academy, this intensive week gathered students, researchers and world-leading experts from academia and industry to learn and interact while exploring advanced Terahertz technologies and applications.

The main highlights of Ihtesham’s successful participation included:

  • Research presentation: Ihtesham showcased his individual doctoral poster titled 'High Gain Fabry-Perot Antennas for Terahertz frequencies'.
  • 3rd prize in the student group project competition: they won the prize with the work on '𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘰𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘣𝘪𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘻'. Congratulations to Ihtesham and his teammates on this achievement!

Ihtesham Khan is currently pursuing his PhD at the UPNA's Antenna Group, under the supervision of Professors Juan Carlos Iriarte Galarregui and Iñigo Ederra. The specialized expertise gained in Germany during the summer school and the excellent work he accomplished there will undoubtedly provide him with great motivation and a solid asset to successfully advance his ongoing doctoral research.
