Alisson García Herrera has successfully completed a research stay to train in advanced algorithms and trasnport optimization techniques.
Alisson García Herrera has successfully completed a research stay at the Department of Applied Statistics and Operational Research (Universitat Politècnica de València-UPV, Alcoy Campus) to learn of advanced algorithms and transport optimization techniques. This knowledge and experience will be implemented in her research project, which is focused in solving transport optimization problems in the field of city logistics and smart mobility of goods and people that take place during urban last mile distribution. This engineer, specialized in transportation, is currently researching at UPNA’s DECYL group, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Javier Faulín.
During her stay in Alcoy, she has been guided by Prof. Dr. Ángel A. Juan, alongside other members of the group, whose researchs include applications of data analyticis, optimization for the industry, automatic learning and artificial intelligence fields, among others. Both groups from UPV and UPNA develop joint research within the context of the project 'Spanish Network in Transportation, Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics (TRA-AI Network)', funded by Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (RED2022-134703-T).
Moreover, at the begining of the stay she attended the International Summer Conference 2024 'Empowering Human Decision Making in a Robotics & Data-Driven World', together with her supervisor and other colleagues from Pamplona and Alcoy.
A really productive month for Alisson, who is doing good progress in her PhD project, to contribute to a more sustainable cities improving transportation and distribution agility.
